Facilities
At Beaufort Secondary College, we pride ourselves on our first-rate facilities. Having undergone an enormous redevelopment throughout the last six years, the College now has a new state of the art Food Technology Kitchen and Dining Room, two new Science Laboratories, a new I.T. space and several new classrooms.
Our Arts wing offers students the opportunity to get in touch with their creative side, as does our Materials Technology building, which is home to our Fibres, Metalwork and Woodwork facilities.
In addition to this we have a fully equipped Gymnasium with a mezzanine level, that hosts a specialised exercise/fitness space and adjoins the Drama Centre, which is where we host our music classes, assemblies, awards presentations, and other important events.
The Student Centre, also known as the Canteen, is linked to the rear of the Gymnasium/Drama Centre and is an ideal spot for students to sit and chat with friends. It’s also a great place to warm up in the cooler months or cool down during the warmer months, and the Canteen offers a variety of well-priced and delicious snack and/or lunch options.
For those who are feeling a little more active, we have new outdoor sporting facilities, including two new Basketball and Downball courts. Numerous artworks and sculptures sit among established gardens and well-maintained grounds, including an inclusive amphitheatre space.
Our unique Year 12 Common Room affords our Year 12 students a quiet place to study and interact with their peers. As well as a fully equipped kitchenette, there is a communal dining area, relaxed lounge space with TV, tables for study and individual lockers.
Located near the Basketball Courts, our Hands on Learning shed caters to those who feel the need to be actively involved in and around the school and community, and enables us to assist with various projects throughout the year. If you’re interested in horticulture or agriculture our greenhouse and gardening space, located next to the College dam, might be what you’re looking for. Regardless of your preference, there is sure to be something that appeals.
