Beaufort Secondary College, in conjunction with not-for-profit organisation, Ourschool, are working to develop and grow the school’s Alumni Program. The program aims to strengthen the community from the inside out, by building a network of inter-connected alumni, who are willing to give back to the school and our students.

Prior to participation, alumni are selected based on their suitability for the program. Alums invited back to the school participate in sessions tailored to specific areas of study and/or student interest. In addition, we host sessions that draw on a broader range of expertise, targeting larger groups within our school. Although preferred, alums are not required to attend onsite, as we have the option to live stream directly from their location.

Sessions can be presented in a variety of different formats, ranging from Q & A style interviews, to more interactive experiences, where alums may assist students to develop certain skills. Ideally, we are aiming to create a support network beyond teachers, family, and friends, that is accessible to students before and after graduating, to ease their transition into the workforce.
