Remote and Flexible Learning Update

Return for Year 12 students

Wednesday September 8th, 2021

Hi Everyone,

You may have heard the announcement today from the Premier, Daniel Andrews, regarding Regional Victoria easing restrictions from 11.59pm, Thursday September 9th, which includes the return of our Year 12 students to on-site learning as of Friday this week.

The main points to understand with this easing of restrictions include:

  • All Year 12 students will resume on-site classes from this Friday 10th
  • Any Year 11 students that are currently completing a Unit 3/4 subject will resume their on-site classes for this subject.
  • Year 7 to 11 students will continue with Remote and Flexible Learning until schools are advised otherwise.

For the students returning to on-site learning on Friday, masks will remain an important part of keeping everyone safe and will be required indoors and outdoors when social distancing is not possible. Masks are required for all students when travelling to and from school on a bus.

Once again, thank you for your support and for doing the best you can in challenging circumstances.

Please continue to check Compass or our School Website (beaufortsc.vic.edu.au) for updates on information.

Stay safe and stay well.

Remote and Flexible Learning

September 1st, 2021

Hi everyone,

You may have heard the announcement this afternoon from the Premier, Daniel Andrews, regarding an update on restrictions for Victoria. Our understanding at this stage is that all schools across the state will continue with Remote and Flexible Learning for the rest of this term. However, if this happened to change or we receive further information, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation, resilience, and support. We understand that it is a very challenging time. The feedback from students in relation to the Hard Copy Learning Materials that have been created for all our students in Years 7-10 has been very positive, so we will continue to supply students with learning tasks in this manner. It seems to work well in conjunction with the use of Google Classroom and Zoom Lessons, as well as making life easier for those with internet challenges. We will send out further details regarding Remote and Flexible Learning for the coming week.

It is important that students and parents ask for help if any assistance is required. If you need any wellbeing support for your child, please do not hesitate to contact us. Some further support contacts are listed below:

Saturday August 21st, 2021

Hi everyone,

You may have heard the announcement this morning from the Premier, Daniel Andrews, regarding Regional Victoria going into lockdown from 1.00pm, today August 21st until 11.59pm, Thursday September 2nd. Therefore, learning from home will be in place for this period of time.

In line with advice from the Department of Education and Training, we will prepare and organise Remote and Flexible Learning with our staff on Monday, so that everything is in place for all of our students to be learning from home on Tuesday. However, our Year 11 and 12 students will continue with their classes and learning on Monday, beginning with Form Group Meetings at 9.00am. All students need to monitor Google Classroom closely for access to classwork or direction with their studies.

It is important for all students to attend their on-line Form Group Meeting at 9.00am on Tuesday morning so they can connect with their teachers and receive the necessary details about their learning. A link for the Zoom Meeting will be available in their Google Classroom Form Group Stream.

We have a skeleton staff at school to provide support to students regarding access to devices, learning materials and any support that may be required – including wellbeing. Vulnerable children, including those with a disability, as a well as children of essential workers who need to be on-site, are asked to email our school (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

It is important that students and parents ask for help if any assistance is required. If you need any wellbeing support for your child, please do not hesitate to contact us. Some further support contacts are listed below:
